President’s Message:
Happy Spring! I am excited about our two inbound exchanges this year. We have the upcoming Global Garden Exchange from May 29 - June 4 and another inbound exchange September 17-21 with “first-time’ ambassadors from the Olympia, WA Friendship Force club.

Virginia McGraw, Marianne Key and Gudrun Gill have done a great job as ED’s for the Global Garden Exchange. They have put together a wonderful program that features many beautiful gardens in the Rogue Valley and also highlights the natural beauty of Southern Oregon.  What they need now are day hosts; they have 4 so far, but need 11. This would be a good opportunity for new members to experience hosting.  Spend the day or the afternoon doing something fun with our ambassadors and get to know them. We also need members to sign-up for activities, especially our bus trip to the Oregon coast and the Redwoods. The cost of this trip is $16. You are welcome to ask friends to come along.

The ambassadors from the Olympia FF Club are all new members so we need to make their first outbound exchange a memorable experience one for them. The dates for this incoming exchange are September 17-21. This is a mini-exchange of 3 days/ 4 nights. Bill Shrader, our ED, has already put together a great program which he will talk about at our next meeting.  Right now he is looking for home hosts for our ambassadors from Olympia.

There will be sign-up sheets for both exchanges at the next meeting on Sunday, April 26th. I hope to see you there! Please remember this is the time of year when our meetings change to 7pm. Hosts for the incoming Global Garden Exchange will meet at 6pm.    Chris Vitalis
